(You're Looking Like) the Stunt Double for Louis Braille

from "Borrowed Blue" by J "Jay" Joseph Sharp

/

about

based on a poem I wrote in High School. Recorded during or soon after.

lyrics

clocking in tipping the scales
this humidity craze
has hot honey bun glaze
twisting writhing loathing
entrails spill on this laundry pile
sitting Indian style

if you believe you can be king
just for a week
waking up just to sleep
what's the standard
what's the use-
anymore?

there seems to be/ much polluting inside
are you still looking for the worst of times

pull over
a rock chair
and hit rewind
show me the scene
painted blue / painted red
and blue by blinds
tell me a story if you mind
if you don't mind to be kind

I don't know
I don't know
you're looking like the stunt double for
for Louis Braille
