On Fire ["Girl on Fire" home demo] iMac / Garageband Jan 2011

At the tail end of 2010 we talked with Mariel Marelli about going back into the studio to develop new material for either an EP or a show. Amazingly one of the first things we did at a warm-up, rehearsal/jam to re-familiarize ourselves with our instruments - you know, not yet rehearsing entire songs or playing through a sequence or setlist or any 1-2 or 1-2-3- punchy order or sequence of songs planned for sequential showcasing...
we WROTE this together as a band. In the room with Natalia it sounded great, but going home the "close your eyes and see / close your eyes and sleep" parts were just TOO SOMA by the Smashing Pumpkins so we omitted them for the final album.

which we all saw as an arcade-fire sounding song at the time
that "milennial whoop" ing almost like a yodel, which Natlaia and I both watched on an epsiode of VOX on netflix and youtube- were planned for ZERO key changes in a large echoey place (delusions of grandeur much? We'd like to think of our songs as ARENA adjacent lol - but really, for ampitheatres you need no keychanges and call and rseponse with the audicence, or just plain ol soccer chants are always a fun crowd-pleaser. so we wrote one by design
